Cary C. Woods II was born in Memphis, Tennessee, to the son of a criminal defense attorney, who currently serves as a judicial referee. Mr. Woods realized at a young age while spending time at his father’s firm that practicing law was also a passion, and had a great interest in making it his life’s work.
Mr. Woods left the great state of Tennessee to attend Florida State University for undergraduate studies, graduating with a BA in Political Science and International Affairs. Thereafter, he moved to Miami to attend, and eventually graduate from, St. Thomas University School of Law. In law school, Mr. Woods earned two book awards for his outstanding participation and knowledge in Constitutional Law II and Trial Advocacy.
Mr. Woods spent the early years of his career as a civil defense attorney. He represented insurance companies, major corporations, and various at-fault parties. Today he concentrates his practice on premises liability, auto liability, liquor liability, insurance coverage, products liability, and general civil litigation.
Mr. Woods has been selected to The National Black Lawyers Top 100 and is rated AV-Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell. Mr. Woods is a member of the Florida Bar Association, American Bar Association, and Miami-Dade Bar Association.
Mr. Woods currently resides in Miami. In his free time, he is an avid sports fan, dedicated many years playing national competitive tennis, and is a fitness enthusiast.
